Hello friends
Nature is endlessly mutable, always in a state of flux. But there are certain moments and markers in time when the energy of change feels even more potent, and more accessible. In the course of day, we witness sunrise and sunset, midday and midnight. Over the month-long lunar cycle, we might choose to honour the Dark Moon, or the Full Moon, or the bright new crescent that is currently shining in our twilight skies.
In modern Paganism, there are eight markers over the course of a year to remind us to tune in and honour the cycles of Nature. These are the two Solstices (Midsummer and Midwinter), the two Equinoxes (Spring and Autumn), and then the four sacred days that sit between Solstice and Equinox: Imbolc, Beltaine, Lammas (Lughnassadh) and Samhain (Halloween).
Tuning in and celebrating these seasonal festivals helps to align ourselves to the cycles of Nature, reminding us that we are just as much a part of these cycles as any tree or flower or field. We ARE Nature!
So, in honour of two of these sacred days - Imbolc for the Northern Hemisphere and Lammas for the Southern - I'm presenting a livestream ritual concert tomorrow (Feb 1st in America and Europe / Feb 2nd in Australia ) !!!
